Dear UCA Family,
Every Monday at 8:00 a.m. some parents and staff members meet in the Ad Building to lift up our school, students, staff, and their special requests in prayer. We hope you will pause for a few moments wherever you are to join us. Our next prayer time will be Monday, February 12, and we will be praying for UCA Alumni, Sarah Holloway, and Butch and Alice Huggard.
RenWeb has run into a major programming error which affects both the parent and student portals. This is a high priority issue they are currently working to resolve. The login information will go out as soon as the problem is fixed. We apologize for this delay, which is completely out of our control. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
WWU FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT
We are so proud of our students and their participation at the WWU Friendship Tournament last weekend. Coach Reading expressed it well: “Our teams played very well. Our girls did a great job at the tournament and really came together as a team. They won 44-33 against Livingstone and took 5th place in the tournament. Our boys played in the championship against Puget Sound for 1st place. They played an amazing game and won 56-43. Our kids played great, but what impressed me the most was the character they displayed while playing. I had an official pass by during one of the games and tell me what great kids we had. We are very proud of our young people and feel privileged to have been with them at the tournament. Thank you, parents, teachers, and administrators for the outstanding job that you are doing to mold these students into amazing, sold-out Christians.” Congratulations, Lions! Thank you all for your support!
Today’s game will be a blackout game (everyone wears black). It is also the Senior night when we recognize the Seniors on our basketball teams. Please come and support our seniors! The schedule for the remainder of the season is below:

The UCA home-leave bus schedule is attached with cell numbers for the drivers. Please contact the drivers if you have a change in plans. Please be at the drop-off and pick-up points on time this Thursday, and on Monday, February 5. The bus driver is on a very tight schedule and it affects everyone if they wait for late arrivals.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY – ADMINISTRATOR ON DUTY DURING HOME LEAVE
If there is an emergency during home leave regarding transportation or the home-leave bus, please call (509) 245-3601. If an administrator is not able to answer, please leave a message. They will be checking the messages frequently.
WWU CHORAL CLINIC
A group of our students will be attending the Choral Clinic at Walla Walla University from Wednesday to Sabbath, February 7-10. They will load at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, and will return Saturday evening, around 8-9 p.m.
ACRO SOUL will be on tour Thursday to Sabbath, February 8-10, to Brewster, Moses Lake, and the Tri-Cities. They will leave at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, and return at midnight on Saturday night. Please see schedule attached.
ONE-TIME REC SKI
Students who would like to go skiing on a one-time basis have four more chances to join in the fun! The rate for transportation is $20.00 and the ticket is $50.00 + tax per day ($55.00). If interested, you need to get a permission slip from Pastor Sid, fill it out and return it to him with your transportation payment by Wednesday before going. You also need to bring your own sack meals or make arrangements with the cafeteria for a sack breakfast and lunch. Bring a sack supper or money for a Taco Bell dinner on the way home. See you at Schweitzer!
SENIOR RECOGNITION WEEKEND – SAVE THE DATE!!
Senior Recognition Weekend and Talent Night are almost here! We hope you can join us February 16-18, as our seniors are eager to show you their talents! They will have beautifully decorated tables close to the stage for the Talent Program so you can watch the show more comfortably. These tables include 6 chairs and may be purchased for $75. You may get two additional chairs for $10 each. To purchase a table please contact the Business Office at Carol.Ochoa@ucaa.org or Nancy Starr at Nancy.Starr@ucaa.org. There is a limited number of tables and they usually sell quickly, so make your reservation today!
We need your help for the Senior Recognition Weekend Silent Auction, coming up February 17, 2018. If you have any new items you can donate, gift cards, services, or anything else you can think of, the senior class would love to include those things in the upcoming auction. Please plan to send the items back with your senior when they return from home leave. All items can be given to the senior sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Starr. Thank you very much for your support!
